This commemorative £5 Crown-sized coin celebrates the Diamond Wedding(or 60th anniversary of the marriage) of Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It comes ten years after another crown coin marking their Golden Wedding in 1997.

The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, the author of the Queen's Fourth definitive portrait, and the reverse by Emma Noble.

At the centre of the obverse are the conjoined busts of Queen Elizabeth II (in the foreground, to the left), and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (in background, to the right), both facing right.

Around left is the monarch's legend, ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRA · REG · F · D · (translated from Latin: Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith), followed around right by her husband's legend, PHILIP · PRINCEPS (from Latin: Philip, Prince).

The reverse features the Rose Window of Westminster Abbey (where the Royal Wedding took place). Around above, the inscription TVEATVER VNITA DEVS (God, protect the Union).

Around below, the value and denomination divide the anniversary dates: * 1947 * FIVE POUNDS * 2007 *.

The artist's initials e.n. (for Emma Noble) are after the 7 of the date 2007.
